Secondary Steel's Contribution to Indian Economic Growth cannot be overlooked

Steel plants in the secondary sector have many advantages like less land requirement, lower capital investment, better energy efficiency, proximity to users and less dependence on logistics. The Steel Ministry wants to promote and encourage the growth of the domestic steel industry and want that Indian-made steel should be given preference in government-funded projects. Whether it be Housing, Urban Development or Swachh Bharat Mission, steel is integral to the sectors.
