US: Mi-Tech Steel to acquire Mitsui Auto Steel Canada

MITSUI USA has announced that Mi-Tech Steel, a 50:50 joint venture between a subsidiary of Mitsui USA of New York and Steel Technologies of Louisville, Kentucky, will acquire 100% of the stock in Ontario-based Mitsui Auto Steel Canada. Through this integration, Mitsui USA expects to expand its business, especially in the areas of automotive steel processing and just-in-time logistics operations. Mi-Tech Steel offers steel processing and logistics services to mainly Japanese automotive VMs and component manufacturers in the US. The company has five steel processing facilities in Tennessee, Indiana, Alabama, and Mississippi.
