A meta-analytic comparison ofoocyte vitrification succes rates with slow freezing and the sart ivfdata with unfrozen oocytes

Oocyte vitrification (VF) is an emerging technique but there are no studies comparing its efficiency to slow freezing (SF) or IVF with unfrozen oocytes. MATERIALS-METHODS: All manuscripts and abstracts on SF and VF from Jan 1986 - May 2006 were identified from Medline, reference lists of authoritative reviews, and abstract books. Authors were contacted when there were missing data. Cycles which used immature oocytes and did not utilize ICSI were excluded leaving 34 and 9 reports in SF and VF. Age/year matched SART success rates are calculated for comparison with SF and VF.
