UK: Corus and DAF Trucks collaborate on truck safety

INTERNATIONAL steel company Corus and DAF Trucks have collaborated to develop a computer simulation crash model. The two companies believe this will lead to safer truck designs. The collaboration brought together DAF's design capabilities and Corus' materials knowledge and computer modeling expertise. Using this computer aided engineering (CAE) model is expected to reduce the two companies' reliance on physical crash testing, cutting development time and costs.
