US: Hydrogen Technology Applications files powertrain patent

HYDROGEN Technology Applications has filed patents for its proprietary powertrain technology, called the Hybrid Hydrogen Oxygen System (HHOS). According to the company, the HHOS generates Aquygen gas, used for welding and other industrial applications, on board cars and can be used as a primary fuel source or fuel additive for gasoline and diesel engines. The HHOS, in patent-pending stage, can generate sufficient Aquygen gas using wasted energy from a vehicle's alternator to separate hydrogen and oxygen in water through electrolysis to enrich a vehicle's traditional fuel supply of gasoline or diesel. According to the company, its HHOS system can be installed with very little modification to a standard piston engine and would not affect water and oil operating temperatures.
