Mexico: Behr selects Saltillo for new plant

BEHR has selected Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico as the site for its new US$13m automotive components manufacturing plant. The company plans to begin construction on the 130,000sq-ft manufacturing plant within the next two months. The new facility should begin operations by early 2007 and will employ around 250 hourly and salaried employees. It will supply engine-cooling units to nearby automotive assembly plants in Mexico and export certain components to the US. It is expected to generate annual sales of about US$110m.
