Poland: Bridgestone announces new investment

BRIDGESTONE is planning an investment of almost {EUR}300m (US$386.2m) in Poland, reported Puls Biznesu. The company plans to build a new plant in Stargard Szczecinski, which should become operational within three years. It will eventually employ around 700-800 people. The project will be part of the Kostrzynsko-Slubicka special economic zone. Construction of the plant is expected to start in spring 2007. "The market is developing because the car production keeps growing. Poland is a very promising market although more and more companies, not only tyre producers, choose to invest in other countries. Pirelli has recently built its factories in Romania and China," said Anna Szwajkowska from Pirelli Polska.
