Russia: Johnson Controls to establish seating components joint venture

JOHNSON Controls has chosen a Russian partner to establish a seating components joint venture to be based in Togliatti, western Russia, The Moscow Times reported. This move would enable Johnson Controls to capitalise on the demand for quality car components in Russia. According to Rene Behiels, group vice president and general manager for Johnson Controls in Russia, the new joint venture is expected to initially produce between 60,000 and 70,000 seating components per year. The investment in the joint venture will be between US$3m and US$5m, with Johnson Controls owning the majority stakes.
