US: Scuderi to unveil split-cycle engine with patented air-hybrid technology

THE Scuderi Group, an engine development company currently building the pioneering Scuderi Air-Hybrid Engine, has raised more than US$8m in funding, including a US$1.2m award from the US Government. The funding will help continue developmental work on a system regarded by some as the world's most fuel efficient internal combustion engine. Currently in production at Southwest Research, an independent laboratory in San Antonio, Texas, the patented air-hybrid split-cycle engine will be introduced at the Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE) World Congress exhibition this April in Detroit.
