China: Ford to sell component plants to Chinese supplier

FORD plans to sell some of its unused North American components facilities to Chinese supplier Wanxiang Group, reports Automotive News, citing sources familiar with both companies. Executives from Ford-owned Automotive Components Holdings are said to have visited Wanxiang at the company's headquarters in the city of Hangzhou. However, Della DiPietro, a spokeswoman for Automotive Components, declined to comment on Wanxiang. She said that the company is talking to many suppliers interested in acquiring company assets. Ford wants to liquidate Automotive Components after it sells or closes its factories in the US and Mexico.
