Germany: ThyssenKrupp denies sale of automotive operations

THYSSENKRUPP has denied reports on the sale of its automotive components business division. "The automotive division will not be sold," said Ekkehard Schulz, chief executive officer of ThyssenKrupp. His denial puts an end to speculation about a complete disposal to help fund the planned acquisition of Canadian steelmaker Dofasco. The company currently plans to acquire Dofasco from Mittal Steel.
