US: Visteon to reduce Ford business

VISTEON plans to reduce the amount of business it has with Ford over the next two years as it moves more production overseas, reports Associated Press. "Ford business made up 47% of Visteon's sales in 2005, but the company expects that to drop to 36% by 2008. By contrast, business with Asian automotive manufacturers is expected to increase from 26% to 36%," said Don Stebbins, chief operating officer of Visteon. Stebbins expects sales to increase from US$10.7bn in 2005, not including sales from 23 facilities that were transferred back to Ford in 2005, to US$12bn by 2008.
