INTERMAP Technologies has signed an agreement with Tele Atlas North America to develop two- and three-dimensional digital road maps for the vehicle navigation industry. With this partnership in place, the companies plan to address the increasing demand for intelligent transportation systems (ITS). The collaboration will also facilitate the combination of Tele Atlas' 2-D data with Intermap's 3-D NEXTMap data. "We are excited to join forces with Tele Atlas in an effort to accelerate 3-D navigation visuals and provide a more detailed 3-D road vector database in support of ITS applications. We are not only focused on improving navigation systems, but also on positively impacting other ITS applications such as vehicle safety, road safety and fuel consumption," said Brian Bullock, president and chief executive officer, Intermap Technologies.
