Fading Coal

As the United States continues its economic recovery, electricity production in the first four months of 2010 was 2.7% less than the corresponding period two years earlier. However, electricity production from coal was down 8.7%. This continues a trend, where coal-fired electricity fell recently from 48.5% in 2007 to 44.5% in 2009.
