China: Chang'an Ford Mazda Engine commences mass production

THE three-way joint venture operation in China between Chang'an Automotive, Ford and Mazda, Chang'an Ford Mazda Engine (CFME), has commenced mass production of BZ series engines. CFME, situated in Nanjing, eastern China, will supply engines to each of the three participating companies' local operations. Built at an investment of Yuan 2.5bn (US$323.79m), construction of production lines for casting, machining and assembly have been completed. The plant will produce cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, camshafts and connecting rods onsite.
