Germany: Siemens VDO to develop advanced park-assist system

SIEMENS VDO Automotive has stopped development of ParkMate, its park-assist system, Automotive News Europe has reported. Gernot Spiegelberg, Siemens VDO vice president of group strategy and technology, explained that ParkMate has become a commodity device and that several other companies, such as rivals Valeo and Robert Bosch, are offering the technology.
