Within the one-electron approximation, we investigate, in a new way, the main aspects of photon emission and absorption processes from electronic transitions in an ideal one-dimensional potential well. As a matter of fact, we calculate a lower bound for the absolute temperature of the involved photon gas. In addition, a lower bound for the electron Fermi energy is determined.
