Sun Isn't Shining on US Solar Companies

Companies that manufacture solar panels in the United States are struggling. The process of obtaining a federal loan is both long and costly, and only available if a company needs help with research and development. Things are different in China, and the United States is losing valuable jobs and industry because of it. Evergreen Solar, the third-largest maker of solar panels in the country, is closing down a plant it just opened in Massachusetts (USA) in 2008, and is moving production to China. As a result, 800 US jobs will be lost.
