A mathematical model is presented to study the influence of slip velocity at the permeable walls on the fluid flow and solute transport in a channel. The Newtonian, viscous fluid flow across the permeable channel walls, as a result of differences in both the hydrostatic and the osmotic pressure, is considered. Under the low Reynolds number regime, the solutions of Navier-Stokes equations governing the fluid flow and solute transport equation are obtained by numerical methods. The effects of slip on the hydrostatic pressure, osmotic pressure, velocity profiles, concentration profile and the total solute clearance are investigated and presented graphically. It is observed that the effect of slip is significant on osmotic pressure and hydrostatic pressure. The present model is considered for possible application to blood flow in glomerular capillaries.
