Novelis joins First Movers Coalition in bid to go green

Novelis Inc has joined the First Movers Coalition (FMC), a global initiative aimed at decarbonizing “hard to abate” sectors, including the aluminium industry, the Atlanta-based producer said on May 31. The FMC – a joint venture between the World Economic Forum and the US State Department – is based in Geneva, Switzerland, and was launched during the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference in October 2021. The FMC serves as a platform for businesses and governments around the world to leverage their purchasing power to create early markets for innovative, clean energy technologies, according to the announcement.
