Trafigura joins Nyrstar in green hydrogen project

Trafigura Group is joining with zinc and lead producer Nyrstar and the state government of South Australia to build a commercial-scale green hydrogen manufacturing facility, which will help decarbonize power supply at the Port Pirie smelter, the physical commodity trading company said. A final investment decision is slated to be made by the end of 2022, with construction to start in 2023 if the project is approved, Trafigura noted.
