The genomic diversity within Vibrio parahaemolyticus and V alginolyticus was assessed by using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD)-PCR. Fingerprinting of genomic DNA was carried out on 25 bacterial strains. Cluster analysis revealed the conglomeration of 15 strains of F parahaemolyticus and 9 strains of V. alginolyticus into two distinct groups.
