摘要

A manufacturer of fresh convenience foods has been ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £205,403 after a pipe lagger was electrocuted by a live cable that had lain undetected for three years in a loft. The incident occurred during the installation of a heat shock system at a Natures Way Foods factory in Chichester, Sussex. The company grows, processes and distributes prepared salads and fruits to retailers and food service companies that include Morrisons, Tesco, Lidl, McDonalds, Pret, Itsu, Zizzi and Pizza Express. The company employed an average of 764 staff in the year to 28 March 2014 at two factories in Chichester and a third factory and head office in Selsey.
