US: Samsung displays digital broadcasting technology for cars

SAMSUNG has showcased its new A-VSB technology at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show. The system allows local television stations to broadcast digital programmes to phones or car televisions, media company CNET News reports. The technology is based on the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) digital television transmission standard. A-VSB (advanced vestigal side band) insulates digital broadcasting streams from interference from buildings, people on the sidewalk and other obstructions.
