US: Valeo faces lawsuit from former employees

FORMER Valeo workers at the company's Rochester plant in New York state have filed a lawsuit against the company, according to local media company Clear Channel Broadcasting. The 57 workers say they were laid off out of order of seniority and unfairly denied retirement benefits. The workers also claim that their union negotiated the lay-offs to the benefit of union officials. In 2005, Valeo announced its intention to close its Rochester facility at Lyell Avenue by August 2008, axing around 500 jobs.
