China: TRW invests in electronic stability control production

TRW's wholly owned subsidiary TRW Automotive Components (Shanghai) (TACS) is investing in a long-term programme to increase localised production of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) systems and related electronic braking systems in China. According to TRW, its ESC combines the function of an antilock brake system (ABS) and traction control and offers a yaw stability function that helps to control vehicle dynamics based on driver demand. The system uses an electronic control unit (ECU), while a hydraulic control unit (HCU) controls the flow of brake fluid to the foundation brake system.
