US: New chief executive officer for Cooper Tire Rubber

OHIO-based Cooper Tire & Rubber has appointed Roy V Armes as its new president and chief executive officer and has elected him to its board with effect from 1 January 2007. Armes will succeed board member Byron Pond who has served as interim chief executive officer since August. Prior to this appointment, Armes served as president and managing director of Whirlpool, Greater China.
