A speciality gas company, Air Liquide UK, has been fined £160,000, with costs of £22,611, after an employee was overcome by vapour while disposing of a redundant gas bottle. On 7 February 2015, four members of the company's emergency response team were disposing of gas bottles at the company's site in Tunstall, near Stoke-on-Trent. The process required two workers to cut open the bottles inside a purpose-built box, with a hacksaw operated from outside of the box.
