The link between the health, wellbeing and productivity of employees and the buildings in which they work has long been a subject of debate. It is well recognised, for example, that aspects of a building's design and construction - as well as its poor management, operation and maintenance - can contribute towards mental and physical ill health, higher absenteeism and low staff morale.
