Deadly disease PPE likely to fail to protect

The personal protective equipment (PPE) currently in use in the UK against deadly diseases such as the Ebola virus has been found to be potentially ineffective, according to an HSE research report1. In a report that is fortuitously and unexpectedly timely given the planning for the arrival of the Coronavirus believed to have originated in Wuhan, China, the HSE is proposing an improved, standardised model of kit and use, developed after working with Public Health England (PHE) and the NHS.
