Asthma surveillance at low levels in high-risk sectors

An HSE survey has found that only one in five employers that reported exposures to substances that might cause occupational asthma were carrying out health surveillance1. The finding is particularly worrying because health surveillance is a legal requirement where workers' health may be affected and there is an appropriate detection method. Surveillance can also allow early detection and treatment.
