Bluescope delays Ohio EAF expansion

NorthStar BlueScope will delay the $700-million expansion of its electric-arc furnace (EAF) operations in Delta, Ohio, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the company announced on Tuesday April 7. “Construction and installation programs are being rescheduled for the next six months to minimize cash spend whilst preserving flexibility to resume the full scope of project activities when conditions improve,” the Australian steelmaker said in a company statement.
