The Midwest aluminium premium in the United States declined again on Tuesday March 31, with the automotive shutdowns in the country squeezing demand and stoking uncertainty. Fastmarkets assessed the aluminium P1020A premium, ddp Midwest US at 10.5-12.5 cents per lb on March 31, down from 11.5-13.5 cents per lb the week before. Most traders did not sell spot material in the past week, with automotive demand deteriorating after several automakers suspended US operations.
