Children in Wales 'should be weighed at every contact'

Children should be weighed every time they see a health professional according to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).In a submission to the Welsh National Assembly's Children and Young People Committee's inquiry into obesity, paediatricians said it is 'imperative' to look at 'holistic' measures for the future in order to tackle the country's growing obesity epidemic.The RCPCH called for children to be weighed and measured during every contact with a health professional, and for clinical bodies to promote targeted education and training programmes to help practitioners offer such services.
