Children's Commissioner reform in England: draft legislation

The Joint Committee on Human Rights (JCHR) published a report in December on the reform of the Office of the Children's Commissioner: draft legislation. The JCHR was established to focus on issues relating to human rights in the UK and legislation around those issues. In July 2012 the government published draft legislation on the proposed reform of the Office of the Children's Commissioner in England following the recommendations made in the Dunford Review, an independent review that was presented to Parliament in December 2010. The JCHR has now compiled a report, which reviews the draft provisions for their compatibility with international standards for human rights institutions for children.
