Scottish children found to be 'least active' in the world

Children in Scotland are ranked the least active' in a major worldwide study.Of 15 countries across the world, Scotland came bottom for physical activity and 'screen-based leisure' such as television and video gaming.However, most of the countries fared badly in this area. Ten of the countries who submitted data reported low or worsening levels of physical activity.The Global Matrix of children's physical activity assessed nine indicators and were graded from A to F. They include: overall physical activity; organised sport participation; active play; active transportation; sedentary behaviours; family and peers; school; community and built environment; and government strategies and investments.
