Green light for switch to RAB

The Russian government has approved the timeline for switching Russian regions to RAB electricity distribution tariffs by 2010 and 2011, Otkritie said January 26, citing Interfax. By July 1, 2010, 23 regions should complete the transition to RAB, after which 100% of the territory covered by MRSK of Centre, MRSK of South and MRSK of Volga will fully operate under the new tariffs, while MRSK of North-West will have 69% of their regions transferred and MRSK of Siberia will have 36%. The remaining regions should switch over to RAB by January 1, 2011.
