DTEK production results for 2009

DTEK announced January 26 its production results for 2009, ahead of its full-year results, which will be issued in the spring (see table). Coal extraction at the company's plants, OJSC Pavlogradugol and OJSC Komsomolets Donbassa, totaled 17.6 million tonnes for the year, a marginal increase of 0.2% compared with 2008. This consolidated DTEK's market leading position, with a market share of 24.4%. DTEK's electricity generation division is represented by Vostokenergo and its associated company Dneproenergo. In 2009, Vostokenergo maintained its leading position in Ukraine's thermal generation sector with a market share of 25.2%, despite observing a 13.6% reduction in supply to Wholesale Energy Market.
