Georgia is planning to build an LNG export plant on its Black Sea coast to export Caspian natural gas to European markets, Georgia's first deputy Minister of Energy Mariam Valishvili told Platts January 18. "The plant will have an initial capacity of between 5 billion cu m/yr to 10 billion cu m/yr, and will later be expanded to anything between 15 billion cu m/yr to 30 billion cu m/yr," said Valishvili. The project is still in the early stages of development with officials evaluating possible routes, sources of supply and tariff options before looking for funding for a full feasibility study, she said.
