Comico offers to build refinery

Comico Oil, a Serbian subsidiary of Comico Overseas from Holland, has submitted an offer for the construction of a crude oil refinery in the eastern Serbian town of Smederevo. "If local authorities in Smederevo give us a green light, we will start building the new modern refinery in September and complete it in 36 months," Comico Oil deputy director Radomir Radivojevic, adding that Comico Oil is close to getting an energy license for the refinery. In late 2008, the Smederevo authorities signed a MoU with Comico for the construction of a new crude oil refinery with an estimated development cost of US$250 million. The deadline for submission of bids in the Smederevo tender for the construction of a crude oil refinery expired January 20.
