An Occurrence of Centruroides gracilis (Latreille) (Scorpiones; Buthidae) in Ireland

While there is the small possibility that somewhere in Ireland's sunny south-east there is a population of Euscorpius flavicaudis (Degeer) waiting to be discovered, this country is at present, usually, a scorpion-free zone. I'm not aware even of previously published accounts of historical intrusions. It was with some interest then that I chased down the identity of an introduced specimen, which turned out to present the case of a species with a strong dispersal ability and an interesting range of reproductive strategies that probably, in part, facilitate this.
