Integrated vegetable pest management

This book has been designed so that extension staff and agricultural trainers have a handbook they can refer to quickly when they visit farms. Although designed specifically for Zimbabwe, it will still be a very useful guide in many countries acrossAfrica. The book begins with a discussion on the various techniques that are available for integrated pest management - cultural, biological and chemical. Covering cultural control, the authors explain quite simply how farmers can change the management of their farms, by using, for instance, resistant varieties, improving soil fertility, or by using crop rotation, to reduce the conditions that encourage pests and diseases.
