FAA Changes Place Liu As Aircraft Certification Lead

Long-time agency official Lirio Liu will take over as executive director of FAA’s Aircraft Certification Service, replacing Earl Lawrence, who moves to the NextGen Office to become deputy assistant administrator. Both moves are effective May 8. Liu brings extensive large aircraft certification and safety oversight experience to the position. An FAA employee since 1991, her roles have included serving as manager of the Seattle Aircraft Certification Office and executive director of the Office of Rulemaking. Her current position is executive director of the FAA’s Office of International Affairs.
