It's early morning, and I'm driving to work. The sun is rising over the plains, the wind is out of the north—35 mph according to the radio—and there's a wind-chill temperature of 8°F wind chill. Central Illinois in February. As I look up, I see something that brightens my day: a (lock of geese, and they are heading north! 1 realize that the sun is coming up a little earlier as well, and the days are getting longer. A sign of change—spring is coming!
