Ken Simons began his career in arboriculture in 1960. In the 44 years that have followed, he has continued to actively contribute to the profession as a practitioner, teacher, author, and leader. "Once an arborist, always an arborist," Simons says. Now, as the 2004 recipient of ISA's Honorary Lifetime Membership award, Simons will always be a member of the International Society of Arboriculture. Honorary lifetime membership is presented each year to an ISA member, like Simons, who has made a substantial, material contribution to the progress of arboriculture and who has given unselfishly in his or her efforts to support it.
