Lebanon is our economic partner

摘要

The states of the Near East become a new promising sphere of Ukrainian economic interests. Lebanon, a small state on the East coast of the Mediterranean Sea, stands out from the countries of the region. The territory of Lebanon constitutes 10.4 ths. square meters with the population making 3.05 mn people. The country is situated in the ancient trade ways from Mediterranean to Asia and has long before deserved the name 《the gates to the Near East》. Economics of Lebanon is mainly agrarian with priority given to grain cultivating, cotton farming, and livestock raising. High level of Lebanese financial sector development has won the fame of banking center in the Near East region. Ukrainian experts consider the state as a 《funnel》 through which investment capitals of Arab countries could be directed into the economics of Ukraine. Picturesque Mediterranean nature of Lebanon, its ancient history along with abundance of historical monuments made the state one of the world tourist centers. The state possesses high authority in the Arab world and is a prospective economic partner of Ukraine. For several years already Lebanon leads the way in the Near East trade of Ukraine.
