FOREIGN INVESTMENTS TO ECONOMY OF UKRAINE IN 2002

According to the information of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, foreign investments for the total amount of USD 1,074.8 mn were put in the economy of Ukraine in 2002. This figure exceeds the index of 2001 by 32.1 percent. Investors from the CIS and Baltic States ventured USD 44.5 mn (4.1 percent of the total volume), while investors from other countries - USD 1,030.3 mn (95.9 percent). Non-residents have withdrawn the capital for the amount of USD 368.8 mn from Ukraine over this period. Money deposits constituted more than 45 percent of attracted foreign capital volume (USD 491.5 mn). Contributions in the form of movable and immovable property making USD 373.2 mn occupied the second place. The total volume of direct investments to Ukraine as on beginning of the current year made USD 5.339 bn or USD 111 per capita.
