'GROWTH POINTS' OF UKRAINE'S ECONOMY

Special economic zones (SEZs) and priority development territories (PDTs) have been among the most ambiguous components of Ukraine's economy for the four years running. At their creation stage, SEZs and PDTs were viewed as original "growth points" for the Ukrainian economy and they had to initiate economic recovery after the Long and hard depression of the 90s. The first achievements of SEZs confirmed validity of such expectations. To much extent, it was preference treatment that managed to renew economy of such a depressive and Labor-excessive region as Trans-Carpathian region (Zakarpatye). Presently, the region turns into one of the biggest centers of automotive industry of Ukraine. Scientific and governmental circles even started encouraging and widening preference treatment of SEZs all over the Ukraine's economy in future.
