Major achievements of the A.N. Bach Institute of Biochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, in Technological Biochemistry and Biotechnology

摘要

The decision on the foundation of the Institute of Biochemistry subordinated to the Academy of Sciences of USSR was adopted at the plenary session of the Academy on December 18, 1934. The Institute started its research programs in the beginning of 1935. A.N. Bach and A.I. Oparin, the founders and ideological leaders of the Institute, realized that its activities should encompass a broad range of problems of basic science. Simultaneously, its research programs were designed to develop theoretical foundations of industrial technologies based on biochemical processes.
