A study from Norway reaffirms the effectiveness of giving salmon smolts a mild dose of sedative at crucial transfer points to reduce the levels of stress and mortality. According to one of the two lead scientists in the experiment, the trial includedone brief study outside the laboratory, but the results fully reflected results that had been obtained in a laboratory setting.
